How You Can Help
You can help protect the qualities you love about our area…
We’re sure you want to keep the North Olympic Peninsula’s special qualities to enjoy now and to leave for future generations.
North Olympic Land Trust has made a promise to the people of our region to protect the unique natural areas of Clallam County so our quality of life and that of future generations will remain forever. This promise takes a lot of work and financial support to keep. Fortunately, there are many ways you can help.
Become a North Olympic Land Trust Member
Membership donations provide a substantial portion of our annual budget. They also help us leverage funds from other sources, such as grants. Members are our most important link to other people, letting them know about our cost-effective organization.
Of course, all donations to North Olympic Land Trust, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, can qualify for tax deductions. In addition to the satisfaction of helping the Land Trust protect special lands, you will receive:
- A list of our 2006 donors appears in our Annual Report.
- Quarterly newsletters
- Invitations and discounts for special events
- Opportunities for volunteer activities
- Email messages about the latest news and opportunities

Donate to our Landowner Assistance Fund
Many property owners who want to protect the land they love do not have the financial means to cover all of the costs associated with creating a conservation agreement. Such expenses may include:
- Appraisals
- Surveys
- Title searches
- A timber cruise
- Payment into North Olympic Land Trust’s Stewardship endowment fund, which covers the costs of monitoring and enforcing the terms of the agreement forever
Our Landowner Assistance Fund helps people defray these costs, allowing the Land Trust to protect more of the special places in our area. Our Landowner Assistance Fund page will tell you more about the Fund and how you can help with your donations.
Donate to our Farmland Fund
In the last 50 years, we have lost 75% of the farmland in Clallam County. We continue to lose over 1,000 acres per year due to unchecked growth and suburban sprawl. The Land Trust created this fund to protect important agricultural land in Clallam County, thus preserving these treasured rural landscapes, healthful local foods and important economic benefits.
We also work closely with Friends of the Fields, a local nonprofit organization that focuses on protecting agricultural lands in Clallam County. Donate to our Farmland Fund TODAY!
Show support, honor others on Courthouse plaque
Artwork, displayed permanently in the Clallam County Courthouse, can provide a lasting tribute to people you care about while reminding everyone how important it is to work together so we can protect the qualities that make our area a great place to live, work and visit.
